#AskTheExpert hello doctor I have 8 days old baby girl. yesterday her umbilical cord fell off. can u suggest what is the good sign that it fell off correctly

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy4 years agoA. it is very normal that umbilical cord will fall of within 10 days. if there is no discharge coming then it is a good sign but if it is discharging for more than 3 days meet your doctor

As long as your baby is active and healthy, accepting feeds, showing no discomfort symptoms then nothing to worry. Maintain a good personal hygiene for your baby. Continue breastfeeding your baby well on demand for better health, nutrition and hydration.
