Q.

hello doctor, my child is 4 years now and is sensitive to weather changes due to mild childhood bronchitis. we have been intermittently giving her montelucast as prescribed by her pediatrician. should I be worried about chronic side effects of the drug?

A. thank you for your response doctor. she has completed her course of l-salbutamol and is given the same upon allergic reaction until the symptoms subside.

A. no can continue the meds it appears to be allergic cough/cold. they can be associated with temperature variations around the body (hot to cold or cold to hot environmental changes) which the body cannot sustain leading to cough usually at evening /night and morning. requires examination and start anti allergic medicines. meet dr and prevent such temperature variations. there is a possibility of starting anti allergic medicines for at least one month and the doctor will decide if the child needsx inhaler therapy or nebulization. when allergies are not controlled they can lead to intermittent respiratory infections which needs other medicine
