Q.

#asktheexperts Dear Doctor, My son is 5 years old. Recently, we noticed a small white patch on the skin just above his upper lip. It looks similar to the kind of patches that sometimes appear due to calcium or vitamin deficiencies. We are already giving him Calcifit regularly, and he drinks milk with Pediasure every day. Despite this, the patch has appeared. He does not complain of any itching or pain, and otherwise he is active and healthy. We are a bit concerned and would like to know: Could this be a sign of a vitamin or calcium deficiency, or something else like fungal infection or skin allergy? Should we get any blood tests or vitamin level checks done? Is there any ointment or treatment you recommend? Looking forward to your advice.
