ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. Hello yes you can Ensure that the baby latches properly Nipple along with some part of areola should go deep into baby's mouth. The mouth of baby should be opened wide and the chin should press on your breasts. This way baby feeds properly and nipples don't get hurt . To pull off the baby break the suction by putting your finger between his lips. You can apply nipple care butter by himalaya , in the time between feeds and wash well before you feed the next time. Avoud feeding from sore nipples till they heal. Can pump out some milk by breast pump and feed it through bottles. Can put a warm compress on sore nipples. This will provide relief. You can also use nipple shields.

Go for a nipple shield that is shaped like an extended nipple, and gives the baby a larger area to latch onto. Feeding through the shield helps draw the nipple out, to make it easier for baby to latch onto the breast.
