ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist7 years agoA. it recvers at 6 to 12 months. just oil it if its dry. avoid excess shampoo. if its patchy ,oily, wash with mild shampoo. use soft bristled comb to remove the flakes. dont worry, its harmless. consult doctor if it spreads, or its itching excessively. avoid lotion on head

A. First, gently massage your baby's scalp with your fingers to loosen the scales. Then lightly brush your baby's scalp with a soft brush to further loosen the scales of the cradle cap area(s) and sweep them away. Choose a pure oil like organic olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil.
