Can I eat mangoes when I'm breastfeeding. If yes, how much can I eat?

A. generally there is no such restriction regarding eating mango. but in south India there is a role of not eating mango while pregnancy and breastfeeding. but I have seen this restriction only in south India not in anywhere else. so I think you can eat of you wants to eat. but be careful with the quantity. as I will suggest to eat upto 1 mango a day.

A. and very reactive. When you eat mango, your body may not be able to digest it smoothly and might cause stomach problems. When your baby feeds on your breast milk, your baby also faces the same problem. There are high chances that your baby suffers from gas and loose stools. Both raw mango and mango fruit are not recommended for nursing mothers. If you cannot resist eating mango (most of the people can’t!) and specially while nursing you tend to crave for favorite foods, try eating a very less portion of mango fruit. If your baby seems okay, you can have the same quantity once or twice a week. Do not eat too much of mango just because your baby is okay. Your baby’s body keeps changing and it might show reactions on later stages. You need to avoid Raw mango strictly while breastfeeding. Do not eat even a small portion of raw mango or any dish made out of it.
