Q.

can a child develop apraxia of speech..earlier she was speaking in complete sentences but now only repeating when forced..doctors suggested she has apraxia..but my question is when she spoke once how can she have apraxia??

A. that's what I fail to understand..she had a vary clear speech till 2 n half years of age after which she regressed..so how can it be CAS

A. These symptoms are usually noticed between ages 18 months and 2 years, and may indicate suspected CAS . As children produce more speech, usually between ages 2 and 4, characteristics that likely indicate CAS include: Vowel and consonant distortions. Separation of syllables in or between words.
