Q.
Baby 19 days. Flat nipples, difficulty latching. Fed using nipple shield which is inefficient, milk expressed and fed with spoon/shield. How long does it take for nipples to protrude or baby to adjust to flat nipples.

there is no problem in using nipple shield while giving breastfeeding. it is important to maintain hygiene of the nipple shield with proper cleaning as well as sterilization. if the mother and the child is comfortable and the growth of the child is proper then you can continue to use it

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and keep giving baby pumped milk and also it vary from lady to lady and better to Evaluate once yourself with your gynaecologist in person and clear all doubts.
