Q.
My baby is taking feeding using nipple shield as I hv flat nipples. can we breast feed babies with nipple shield for longer period.

PRIYANKA SANGALEMom of a 3 yr 10 m old boy3 years agoA. Yes i had flat nipples too and used nipple shield for 1 and half month then i just cheked if he able to suck from my breast directly and he did it so use nipple shield and after some weeks try without nipple shield

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. 0 idli nipple shield has not to be used every time but if there is any such problem like flat or inverted nipple then you can use nipple shield for better latching but maintain very good hygiene along with that

mam,for time being it is ok to use it.
on long term usage ,it can create nipple confusion .
if it is not possible to feed your child directly , you can express milk through hands or breastpump and offer it through katori and spoon.
