#asktheexperts My baby will be 6 months old soon, and am excited to start solids for her. Need tips on solid diet, what should be included/excluded and what are the things to keep in my mind. Do’s and dont’s.

A. Hello good evening !! From 6 month onwards start semi solids once a day and rest of the day milk either breastfeed or formula feed. Fruits and vegetables puriees, mashes,dal water,rice starch, soups,malts, kichdi, porridge (oats/dalia/sooji), cerelac. Use only formula milk while preparing kheer and avoid sugar, salt,oil. Use ghee/cheese/butter, dates syrup or rock sugar , prefer only Home made recipes and natural foods (fruits and vegetables, Millets, grains,pulses). Give adequate water and fluids for hydration.
