#asktheexperts is it ok for babies to be around let dogs . Sometimes the dog might lick babies hands and feet. My baby is 5 months old and tendency to put everything into its mouth

Q. My parents have a pet dog . But it’s not vaccinated. While we visited their home yesterday my son was playing outside . This morning I saw a very minute scratch on his feet and when I questioned him he told its becoz of dog . I took him to pediatrician and he suggested as dog don’t show any symptoms of rabies and the scratch is very minute he won’t suggest rabies vaccine . I am still confused and worried . Can anyone suggest what can be done ? Also I m Not very sure whether that scratch is due to dogs nail or some thing might pricked his feet .
