A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .bc

A. Recurrent fevers in a four-year-old could be due to various reasons, including viral infections, bacterial infections, allergies, or underlying medical conditions. If your child is experiencing frequent fevers, it's essential to consult with a pediatrician to determine the underlying cause and appropriate management. Your pediatrician may recommend additional tests depending on your child's symptoms and medical history. These tests could include blood tests, urine tests, throat swabs, or imaging studies like X-rays or ultrasounds. The goal is to identify any underlying infections, inflammation, or other health issues contributing to the recurrent fevers and to develop a treatment plan accordingly. Always follow your pediatrician's advice and guidance for the best course of action for your child's health.
