A. it's ok by 1 year baby will be saying monosyllables atleast. it will improve eventually, and by 2 years baby should be able to follow simple commands and should speak 2 word sentences. by 3 years it's 3 word sentences. may vary a little

A. hi all babies are different so they grow at their own pace. but if your child doesn't utter single word and not even babble then please consult your pediatrician for once. keep talking with your child more. spend quality time with your child. play different games, sing rhymes and read stories with your child. but please don't force your child and don't expect perfection from your child. avoid to allow watching TV mobile or any other gadgets at this tender age.
