Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby took chicken pix vaccine on 26th August and had no symptoms but since 29th he is having 100 degree ferhenight fever...is it because of that.Also I took covaccine yesterday and breastfeeding baby, can it be the reason for fever?

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment also bgthis dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever

A. Hi mom Fever is not because of the above reasons. Fever comes after taking the vaccination not after so many days.. And u have also taken vaccination yesterday, fever is not due to that.. Fever is viral in origin.. U can give paracetamol to ur baby if the fever is above 100 F.
