#AskTheExpert my baby got fever we are using antibiotics syrup by doctor suggestion and also pacimolmf. for cold forming plum any suggest for home remedy for plum removing

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / v kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necesvsary to avoid dehydration .

A. sure thank you madam and can we use nebulizer few are telling to us not use nebulizer bcz kid will addict to that

A. Well there is no home remedy and search for that if you want you can mostly go ahead with giving indirect steam to the child and that is what is going to be helpful in reduction of the problem for the more you should just continue with the medicine suggested by the doctor
