Q.

#AskTheExpert It's been 11 days now the mother is Covid Positive. There is no fever not cough since 7 days. Slight breathing issue in a day- 2 - 3 times for about 3 minutes: 1) Is it okay if she continues to breastfeed the child? 2) Does the child need to be kept under isolation from rest of the house members as well or she can be with them with no impact on them? Thank you for your expertise. Faraz

A. 1) Women with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 can therefore breastfeed if they wish to do so. if she can have cow milk or formula milk than this can also be given. 2) if she can stay away from her mumma than you can keep her in isolation.. frequent hand washing and wearing mask is important .
