#AskTheExpert I have vaccinated my baby today, she has got 6 weeks vaccines, what precautions to be taken care of her

A. my baby is crying a lot, I have already given paracetamol as adviced by my doctor, but since the inj have been given at the legs will some special care to be taken in the injected places or legs?

A. when fever comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain. paracetamol can be given maximcum 4 times per day. you can also apply ice over the injection site. if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophcob gel. vaccine fever usually subsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues beyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever

A. Calm young infants by swaddling them. Hugs, cuddles and soft whispers can help soothe older babies after a shot. Your child may have mild reactions, such as pain and swelling where the shot was given or a fever; these are common and will soon go away. Contact your child's doctor if anything concerns you.
