If your baby is not in pain and there is no swelling or discharge, it usually clears up on its own within a few days to two weeks.
What You Can Do: Keep the eye clean – Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth if needed. Avoid rubbing – Trim your baby’s nails to prevent scratching. Use cool compresses – If there is mild irritation, a cold cloth may help. Monitor for changes – If redness increases, there is swelling, yellow discharge, or your baby seems uncomfortable, consult a pediatrician or eye specialist immediately.
If the spot remains for more than two weeks or worsens, get it checked to rule out infections or other eye conditions.
