Warm mustard oil massage on the chest, back, and soles with a pinch of ajwain (carom seeds) can help. Ajwain and garlic potli (heated and tied in a cloth) can be gently rubbed near the chest for relief. Steam inhalation by sitting near a steamy bathroom (not too close) helps clear congestion. Breastfeeding should be continued frequently to keep the baby hydrated and boost immunity. Elevate the baby’s head slightly during sleep to help with breathing.
If symptoms last more than 3–4 days, worsen, or involve breathing difficulty or high fever, consult a pediatrician immediately.
