#askthe expert My baby is 45 days old and 2.3kg (preterm). In recent test shows his bilirubin levels as 2.7 (Direct Bilirubin 1.5 and indirect Bilirubin as 1.2). Is this something serious and any remedy to get rid of the problem. He doesn't have any jaundice symptoms.

A. Hello, your baby boy is 45 days old and he is premature and his birth weight was 2.3 kg and now his bilirubin is More than normal so consult with paediatrician

A. since baby is a premature child probably baby may be having still prolong action of physiological jaundice the serum bilirubin of the baby is little bit more but there is no need to worry about this
