# ask the expert can i apply Vaseline petroleum jelly to my babies lips in winter

A. Better to avoid, as baby may swallow by licking. Baby skin dryness mostly indicates dehydration. So give proper breastfeeding and liquid intake for baby. You can use coconut oil, Olive oil or almond oil for daily massage before bath. Use a moisturizer once in two days. Do not apply excess of skin products, as baby skin is sensitive and soft.

A. please avoid petroleum jelly.. for chapped lips in babies, you should put some drops of desi ghee in the navel point daily 2-3 times.. if you want you can apply desi ghee on the lips too
