13 month old baby suffering from 102 f feaver .. what can I do

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repreated after 4-6 hrs if needed .
Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever.
Ardequate fluid intake is also beneficial.
Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Jasmine KaurMom of a 9 yr 3 m old boy2 years agoA. Hello dear parent, ypu can give paracetamol to your baby. As that is the only medicine which you can guve to your baby. But you should know the dosage to be guven to your child as per baby's age and weight. Good luck and take care
