Teilo Name Meaning

The name Teilo is of Welsh origin and it is derived from the Welsh word "teilw" which means "magnificent" or "radiant".

Teilo is also associated with Saint Teilo, an important figure in Welsh history. Saint Teilo (c. 500 – 560), also known as Saint Teliavus, was a 6th-century Welsh bishop and one of the founding saints of the diocese of Llandaff in South Wales. He was known for his piety, wisdom, and his contributions to the early Christian church in Wales. Saint Teilo is widely venerated as a patron saint of Llandaff and numerous churches are dedicated to him throughout Wales.
