Khalsa Name Meaning

The name "Khalsa" is of Sikh origin and holds deep cultural and religious significance. Khalsa refers to the community of initiated Sikhs who have chosen to live in accordance with the teachings of Sikhism.

Origin: The Khalsa was established by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Sikh Guru, in 1699. He initiated the process of 'Amrit Sanskar', commonly known as the 'Khalsa baptism', where Sikhs who wished to join the Khalsa were required to undergo a ceremony known as "Amrit" or "Khande di Pahul". This ceremony involves drinking Amrit, a sweetened holy nectar, while certain rituals and prayers are performed.
