A. If your baby has swallowed a small nib or object, it's important to stay calm and take appropriate action: 1. **Monitor Symptoms:** Keep an eye on your baby for any signs of distress or discomfort. Most small objects pass through the digestive system without causing harm, but it's essential to watch for any unusual symptoms. 2. **Encourage Fluids:** Offer your baby plenty of fluids, such as breast milk, formula, or water, to help move the object through their digestive system. 3. **Seek Medical Advice:** If you're concerned or if your baby shows any symptoms such as choking, difficulty breathing, vomiting, or abdominal pain, seek medical advice immediately. Contact your pediatrician or go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation. 4. **Prevention:** Take steps to prevent future incidents by ensuring that small objects are kept out of reach of your baby and that their environment is safe and free of potential choking hazards. It's always better to err on the side of caution and seek medical advice if you're uncertain or concerned about your baby's health.
