My daughter is having heavy hair fall. Is it normal? she is 3 months 16 days old. I am using sebamed shampoo and parachute hair oil.

A. In the first 6 months after birth, babies will lose the hair that they are born with and this hair is meant to fall off. Small amounts of hair fall post this period can also be considered normal. But if the hair fall is excessive, it is a matter of concern. Consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Do not tie braids that are too tight. Sebamed shampoo is good but do not shampoo your baby's hair every day as it can dry the scalp. Avoid combing your baby's hair more than once every other day. Use a soft bristled hairbrush to comb your baby's hair.
