My daughter gets afraid when she see new people in the home or we go to somebody's place. She cries by just seeing the faces of people. Why do she do so and how can I get away from her this habbit? Is it normal?

A. Hi, My daughter is 17th months, and used to have these same habits. We don't live with our parents so she was not used to seeing anyone else's other than me and her dad. But this time we went to her grandparents and stayed there for two months, in the beginning she was afraid and starts crying when her eyes meet with theirs, but eventually she got used to it, and I try to make her understand that meeting people is okay, there's nothing to be scared of. When she cries just take her away from the people and calm her down, and try making her understand. At this age they start to understand very well. My baby is totally fine now with people
