POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. If your daughter has a patch of little or no hair around the neck-to-head area near the ear, it could be due to a few common reasons:
Friction or pressure – Babies often lie in the same position, causing hair to thin or fall out in certain areas. Normal hair pattern – Some babies naturally have uneven hair growth that fills in over time. Cradle cap or dry skin – Scalp conditions can affect hair growth. Medical condition (rare) – If the patch is completely bald, smooth, or growing unusually, it could be alopecia areata or a skin issue, which needs medical attention.
In most cases, it's harmless and resolves with time. You can gently massage the area with coconut or baby hair oil. If the patch grows larger, looks irritated, or remains unchanged for many months, consult a pediatrician or dermatologist for evaluation.
