Q.

My baby will be 2 months old next week and is exclusively breastfed. She is feeding normally and is passed sufficient urine as well. But it has been 6 days since she has pooped. is this a matter of concern ? Do I wait or get her checked by her doctor ? What is the normal timeframe for a breastfed baby to poop ?

A. Breastfed babies can go without pooping for atleast 7-10 days. It is perfectly normal. Massage your baby's tummy gently in circular and clockwise motion as this helps in releasing the trapped gas. Pedalling of legs also helps. Bathing the baby in warm water also helps.
