A. Hair loss in babies is very common and because of many reasons. Because of the withdrawal maternal hormone initial hairfall is there. After birth all the hair of the baby remain in the resting phase and usually by 8 to 12 weeks of age shedding of hairs is there . Hairs will grow bacfk mostly by 3-7 months but a prodper quality hair will be there by around 2 years of age. Cradle cap is also a cause for frequent shedding of hairs. along with traction alopecia because of continuous pressure on head in lying position

A. Instead of paediatrician you should consult a skin specialist because this issue is completely associated with the skin of the child so after a proper and personal checkup only the doctor would be able to tell me what could possibly be the issue and what do you need to go ahead withWrite Your Answer Here
