Q.

My Baby is in her 11 months and just a week back she had measles. we could not make out it was a measles though the signs which her body was showing was all of measles as she had cough, running nose, congestion, fever and red eyes. we gave her fever medicine, but her fever,cought and running nose was not getting cure only so we went to the doctor. he changed the fever medicine and increase the doses of cold and running nose and it was same the like before I mean fever is not here when we gave medicine and again it's there after a while.just yesterday only my mother in law saw the red rashes in her body and that time only we came to know that it was a measles and because of these only the fever wasn't going.. we have stopped giving her fever and cold medicine since yesterday..Though since yesterday she is not having anymore fever, running nose or cold. Red rashes also not there much but is not eating nicely and she is tired all the time..what do I do? #Vaccination

A. Measles can be serious. Some people think of measles as just a little rash and fever that clears up in a few days, but measles can cause serious health complications, especially in children younger than 5 years of age. There is no way to tell in advance the severity of the symptoms your child will experience.The rash usually lasts for three to five days and then fades away. In uncomplicated cases, people who get measles start to recover as soon as the rash appears and feel back to normal in about two to three weeks. But up to 40 percent of patients have complications from the virus
