Q.

my baby is 5 months old and weighs 5.5kgs. her birth weight was 2.8. is it ok? or underweight?

A. Namaste Mom, Monthly weight gain is expected in the range of 300 gm to 1 kg and by age of 4 to 6 months they double their birth weight. You can now introduce them to weaning foods as well,

A. babies at 4 to 6 mnths should double the birth wt and at one yr should be 3 times the birth wt... it is exclusively breast feed recommended fr 6 mnths.. mother milk helps in wt gain... take care...
