My baby is 25 days old n I have flat breast so I am using nipple shield, so I want to know till what period of time it is safe to use nipple shield? Is it fine to breast feed baby as long as possible through the nipple shield?

A. You can use the suction from a breast pump to help draw out a flat or inverted nipple. Pulling back on your breast tissue may help when breastfeeding with flat nipples or inverted nipples. Use A nipple shield is a flexible, nipple-shaped shield that fits over a mother’s flat nipple and areola. Practice V-hold- uses your forefinger and middle finger to create a scissor-like shape around your areola and nipple.

A. Hello dear parent! You can continue breastfeeding with a nipple shield till your baby is able to suckle directly. In between try breastfeeding directly to check. Maintain a good personal hygiene. Sterilise nipple shield after every feed. Continue breastfeeding your baby well on demand. Regularly massage your baby with Babyhug daily massage oil.
