my baby is 12 months old. Gave Hep A vaccine on Friday. doctor said he will not get fever and there was no fever for 3 days. Today he has fever is it because of vaccine?

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic ligke paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine outpfut monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. You a question is in complete but still I would you say that if the fever has been there for more than three days you’ll have to go ahead with consulting the doctor as if the fever last for more than three days you may have to go for a blood test to figure out what is the right reason behind it
