many times white spots can occur in children but does not require any treatment except moisturizing lotion application or simple coconut oil application. 
they will persist for few weeks and then will go away
if the problem continues beyond two weeks and is increasing in size and intensity then you have to meet the doctor for evaluation.

some times it can be due to nutritional deficiency, skin sensitivity, allergy, fungal infection (sometimes self limiting) also for which your doctor will prescribe specific cream.

White patches could be due to various reasons the most common would be deficiency of calcium dryness into the skin and sometimes could be due to a fungal infection as well so there could be couple of things associated like I said to check with your paediatric on this they’ll be able to give you further help on that
