Q.

my baby has 3 yrs.she has fever from last two days.we consult doctor and use paracetamol syrup and antibiotic syrup.when we give syrup fever will reduce but after sometime again temparature increased.pls give suggestions

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracytetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with luhkewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

A. Hi mom Viral fever can take around 3-5 days to subside. so no need to worry. Continue with the medicine prescribed by the doctor. Repeat the dose after six hours if fever comes again Take care and all the best
