Q.

My baby girl is 13 months old and breastfeeding twice a day. She is having trouble in sleeping during night time (wakes up multiple times) and she calms only if I breasfeed. Not sure what the problem is. Elders at home are suggesting to stop breasfeed so that she can eat stomach fully before bed time and sleeps well. Please advise.

A. It’s common for a child to wake up a couple of times in the night in this age also but I think you may be it’s just addiction to breastfeeding more than hunger because the child just takes a feed and goes to sleep so try giving separate milk to the child with bottle in the night or give water and see if that helps and quitting breastfeeding is not a solution until unless you are sure it’s a breast addiction or it’s a normal situation situation because we suggest you to feed the child till the age of two years
