my 7 month old baby has cold and fever. what should I do?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol hrcan be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Shruti SuranaMom of a 12 yr 1 m old boy3 years agoA. hi dear parent please consult your paediatrician..and give prescribed medication. use Babyhug thermometer to measure the temperature. for cold you can apply warm mustard oil on your baby's chest back and foot.
