AdithiMom of a 2 yr 3 m old girl1 Year agoA. hi, not to worry. my daughter had, fever cold and cough when she was 3 months old and again last week when she is 6months old. your health care provider will prescribe medicine for same seeing the condition of your baby and the best part is, babies recover sooner than adults.
if you have started alternative feeding, I suggest don't force feed the baby the same amount of food they take when they are well. all the medicines and runny noses makes them tired and sleepy, hunger is the last thing on their mind. just let them go to sleep when they want to although medicine has to be given in the prescribed time, don't shove it down their throat if they refuse it.
I found mixing baby formula to the medicines helpful. some medicines can taste different from what they consume, hence the revolt.
do not over give the medicines, if the baby is still sick past 3-4 days for which medicine was prescribed, then contact your health care provider about continuing the medicines or not. some medicines trigger reflux and shouldn't be given regularly.
your baby might spit out more, that will come down when they get well. if you are somebody from up north, avoid cheep wollen clothes on your self and on the baby, the wollen itches their noses. I always put thick cotton jackets and socks, gloves etc. although my daughter immediately takes them off, I try keeping the house warm for her.
as much as the grandparents hate it, 'No crawling on the floor until the baby is all well'.
hope this helps,
A fellow first time mother, struggling to keep my baby healthy and alive 😅
