A. either due to dandruff or cradle cap your child is having cradle cap or seborrheic dermatitis (baby dandruff) you have to daily apply baby shampoo (spoo is good brand) on the scalp of the child during the bathing. do not apply any type of oil on the scalp during the daytime but only apply oil at the night time. within one week the cradle cap will disappear. cradle cap is baby dandruff and is a type of fungal infection .

A. It's common for babies to rub or touch their heads and other body parts as a way to explore their surroundings and self-soothe. However, if your six-month-old baby is frequently rubbing the back of their head, it's important to consider possible reasons and monitor for any signs of discomfort or underlying issues. Here are some potential reasons why your baby might be rubbing the back of their head: ### Normal Exploration and Self-Soothing 1. **Sensory Stimulation**: - Babies are naturally curious and may touch different parts of their bodies, including their heads, to explore textures and sensations. 2. **Self-Soothing**: - Rubbing or touching the head can be a self-soothing behavior for babies, especially if they are tired, overstimulated, or seeking comfort. ### Teething 1. **Teething Discomfort**: - Teething can cause gum discomfort and pain, leading babies to rub their heads or faces as a way to alleviate the discomfort. ### Skin Irritation or Itching 1. **Dry Skin**: - Dry skin or eczema on the scalp or neck area can cause itching and lead to rubbing or scratching. 2. **Irritating Substances**: - Exposure to harsh detergents, soaps, or fabric softeners on clothing or bedding can irritate the skin and cause itching. ### Hair Pulling or Tugging 1. **Exploratory Behavior**: - Babies may pull or tug on their hair out of curiosity or as a way to explore their bodies. ### Other Considerations 1. **Ear Infection**: - In some cases, rubbing the back of the head may be a sign of ear discomfort or infection. Look for other symptoms such as ear pulling, fussiness, or fever. 2. **Developmental Milestones**: - As babies grow and develop, they may exhibit new behaviors and movements. Rubbing the back of the head could be part of their developmental exploration. ### When to Seek Advice 1. **Persistent or Severe Rubbing**: - If your baby's rubbing seems excessive, persistent, or accompanied by signs of discomfort, it's a good idea to consult your pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues. 2. **Skin Changes**: - If you notice redness, rash, or other changes in the skin on the back of your baby's head, it may indicate a skin irritation or infection that requires medical attention. 3. **Other Symptoms**: - Look for other signs of discomfort, such as excessive crying, changes in appetite, or difficulty sleeping, which may indicate an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. ### Conclusion While it's common for babies to rub or touch their heads, especially as part of normal exploration and self-soothing, it's essential to monitor your baby's behavior and seek medical advice if you have any concerns about their comfort or well-being. Your pediatrician can provide guidance and address any potential issues to ensure your baby is healthy and thriving.
