I have 28 month old kid. we got him flu shot previous fall (I think in October or November 2020). Some say flu shot once given has to be repeated yearly otherwise child will fall ill as flu vaccine doesn't allow natural immunity to grow.
Is it necessary to give him flu vaccine as we are confused whether to give him vaccine or just keep it to natural immunity.
If vaccine is to be given necessarily what is the best one and dosage. please advise

Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity.
Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 monthghs of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required .
It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it may give partial protection against covid infection .

hello yes flu shot as to be given once in every year during the flu season and upto 5 years should be fine but now with the pandemic and also the symptoms is also same it is good to get fly shot for the baby which would atleast be a partial protection for the child against covid also
