how to reduce constipation in kids for 4 yrs? how long can you use laxative?AskTheExpert

A. you can use laxactives as long as the child is not able to take more fibre diet The problem of constipation will decrease with proper diet modification that is plenty of water and fibre diet and try to give more papaya oats and fennel seeds water to the child. You may have to give a course of constipation medicine to the child to stabilize the child from the pain. Constipation usually decreases with increasing age of the child and medicines give only symptomatic relief.

A. hi well , constipation is caused by food reaction, inadequate intake of fluids or low fiber diet so as such no need of laxative just keep your child well hydrated give balanced diet give food items like soup, fruits etc more which makes digestion easy encourage your child to do more physical activities
