Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. since you have started the pneumococcal vaccine before 6 months so you will have to complete at least 3 dosage before 1 year and then the booster dosage will come at 15 months of age. it is advisable to upgrade from 10 valent(synflorix/pneumosil) to 13-valent(prevenar) but it is not advisable to degrade from 13-valent to 10 valent(pneumosil/synflorix)

In case of my baby, the first dose has given on 5 months, 2nd dose on 6 month. now she s 7 month old. so the 3 rd dose should be given to the child or not?
and what would happen if both the doses are from different brands?
please reply

there is 3 dosages of pcv required
it should be given at the age of 6, 10,14 weeks and the booster dosage at 15 months age
it is an optional vaccine.
but better to give it.
