How many doses are required for PCV vaccine?

A. since you have started the pneumococcal vaccine before 6 months so you will have to complete at least 3 dosage before 1 year and then the booster dosage will come at 15 months of age. it is advisable to upgrade from 10 valent(synflorix/pneumosil) to 13-valent(prevenar) but it is not advisable to degrade from 13-valent to 10 valent(pneumosil/synflorix)

A. Thank u for the reply. In case of my baby, the first dose has given on 5 months, 2nd dose on 6 month. now she s 7 month old. so the 3 rd dose should be given to the child or not? and what would happen if both the doses are from different brands? please reply

A. it all depends when you are taking the pneumococcal vaccine and if you are taking from the birth it would be total of four dosage to be given. . .

A. hi there is 3 dosages of pcv required it should be given at the age of 6, 10,14 weeks and the booster dosage at 15 months age it is an optional vaccine. but better to give it.
