Offer colourful foods like gajar halwa or beetroot halwa or fruit milkshakes or fruit smoothies as colours attract kids. Cut foods into different shapes using food cutters. Offer foods in colourful bowls or fluids in colourful or fancy or quirky mugs. Make mealtime a pleasant family experience without any distractions like TV, laptop, mobile phones and tablet so that the kid learns good and healthy eating habits after watching his parents and his siblings. Praise your kid even if he manages to finish only a small part of his meal. Do not force the kid to eat. Keep offering the same food item 10-15 times and one day the kid might just eat it. Persistence is the key. Give your kid a bowl and a spoon to eat and this is how he will learn to eat independently while touching, playing, and finally tasting the food. Let him play with the food and make a mess. Let him be a part of meal preparations such as setting up the table before mealtime or choosing the vegetables to be cooked. This will build his interest to eat. Offer his favourites along with new foods that you want to introduce in his diet.
