Hi, My daughter is straining too much to poop for last 4 days. Please suggest a remedy to poop and is there any concern for not pooping for last 4 days.

A. She is passing urine without straining but for pooping she is straining too much for last 4 days. Please suggest any syrups for my baby to poop.

A. straining while passing urine and stool is very normal before completion of 6 months of age. sometimes this can continue for one year of age also. it usually occurs due to the distention of the urinary bladder and recdtum of the child. the sensation is new for the child that's why the child is crying if you fseel that the crying is more than normal you should visit a pediatrician for examination.
