Hi. My baby is 86 days old. Her present weight is 5.4. 2 days back, she was excessively crying, she was not taking breast milk instead she was crying more. She cried for 2 3 hours continuously starting from 9 pm on and off.Took her to doctor and as per pediatrician suggestion gave her 6 drops of colicaid drops. she became normal after giving colicaid drops. What could be the reason. Is excessive crying in babies common. She never cried so much before. Is it because of colic? if so when can it end. From 2 days, i observed that she is sleeping alot during daytime, night also she sleeps nicely.

Crying of a Baby  is mostly because of infantile colic and gas related discomfort which is there commonly in night . It  can be relieved by medicine like colicaid or gastica drguops containing dil oil and feniel oil with semethicone. 
other reasons could be hunger any illness, nasal blockage, ear pain, diaper rash and sometfimes more conditions which needs to be ruled out and managed accordingly .

My baby is almost 3 months now. She is 12 weeks now. Before also she never cried so much. So it was not colic rite? Am worried. Now i stopped using colicaid drops today. Gave her drops in morning 10:30 am and did not give her again.
