Hi. My baby has cold and cough from 3 days.. have been putting him on cough syrup and cold syrup as well.. he is already 2 months late for his vaccination.. which was to be given in 2 years.. he is 2years and 3 months now.. when asked his doctor he said let's wait for the cold and cough to get cured then we can carry on with the vaccination.. is it ok if we delay the vaccination?? Cause it's already 2 months late.. pls suggest

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a  viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a projhhper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reducte the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
