A. 5ml dose is adequate. for fever as well as pain kindly give paracetamol according to the weight of child as well as according to the power of paracetamol medicine you are having and paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day and also do body sponge to decrease the surface temperature. also when u take temperature in the armpit of the child and it is 100 or more then only consider it as fever and give paracetamol. higher medicines for fever like ibugesic and mefenamic has to be given only after medical consultation. after giving fever medicines you can wait for maximum 3 days and then meet your doctor if it is not improving. keep the child in cool atmosphere

A. For a child who is 4 years and 7 months old and weighs 15 kg, the dosage of paracetamol (acetaminophen) typically depends on the concentration of the medication and the child's weight. Given that you are using a paracetamol suspension with a concentration of 250 mg/5 ml, the usual dosage is calculated based on weight. The standard pediatric dose of paracetamol is: - **15 mg per kg of body weight per dose**, given every 4 to 6 hours as needed. - **Do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hours.** For your child weighing 15 kg, the calculation would be: \[ \text{Dose} = 15 \, \text{mg} \times 15 \, \text{kg} = 225 \, \text{mg per dose} \] Given that your syrup is 250 mg/5 ml, the dosage in milliliters (ml) would be: \[ \text{Dose in ml} = \frac{225 \, \text{mg}}{250 \, \text{mg/5 ml}} \times 5 \, \text{ml} = 4.5 \, \text{ml} \] ### Recommended Dosage: - **4.5 ml of the paracetamol 250 mg/5 ml suspension** every 4 to 6 hours as needed. - **Do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hours.** ### Important Notes: 1. **Measure Accurately:** Use a proper dosing syringe or cup to measure the exact amount. 2. **Monitor Symptoms:** If the fever, cough, and cold persist beyond a few days or worsen, consult your pediatrician. 3. **Hydration and Rest:** Ensure your child stays hydrated and gets plenty of rest. Always follow your pediatrician's advice and instructions specific to your child's health needs. If you have any concerns or questions about the dosage or the child's symptoms, it's best to consult your healthcare provider.
