Q.

Hi, I m a mother of 45 days old baby..my delivery was normal but from last few days there is an irritation near and around stitches area..it causes more problem during urination...what should I do???

A. You need to check if that area is infected or not as the irritation has started all of a sudden. Ideal thing would be going to your gynecologist as you also need a check up at 6 weeks postpartum

A. There can be some temporary nerve issues after delivery, which decrease the feeling that you need to urinate. Temporary swelling after delivery can also affect your urination. If urine remains in the bladder after urinating, it can cause stretching of the bladder.Your stitches should dissolve after two weeks , and you should heal within three weeks to four weeks of your baby's birth . After two months you should be pain-free . However, healing time and recovery from pain does depend on the severity of the tear .
