Hi Having 20 days old baby. She had jaundice on 3rd day of birth and she was admitted in hospital and given phototherapy for 2 days but after 4-5 days of hospital discharge her skin colour has been changed to darker side than her birth skin colour. Is it Normal? is this temporary or permanent effect? #AskTheExpert

A. yes after phototherapy there is a mild skin darkening but it gets reduced itself after few days because skin texture only remains as genetic as the parents have so no need to worry for that
